The End. Or is it? π
I know some writers who take delight in typing βThe Endβ as they reach the last page of a manuscript but itβs not something Iβve ever done myself.

Iβm not sure why. It could be something to do with the note of finality in the words. Perhaps I prefer beginnings to ends. Or maybe I donβt really see it as an end. Stories live on and, if youβre anything like me, you might carry with you the characters that youβve really connected with β enough to wonder βwhat happened next?β
I love a series where you find out what did happen next and the characters you know and love are at least woven into the background of someone elseβs story. I love this as a writer as much as a reader and Iβve lost count of how many trilogies and duets Iβve written over the years.
The Magic of Provence is the last book of The Year in France trilogy but maybe I havenβt quite let go of the Gilchrist sisters yet. One of them β possibly the whole family, even β is trying to get a guest appearance in the book Iβm currently writing thatβs set in the South of France and Iβm very tempted to welcome them in.
So itβs not really the end. These characters β including the donkeys β will be in my heart forever, along with everything else I adore about Provence.
