I’m so excited to share a big announcement. I’ve reached a sales milestone with my amazing publisher, Boldwood Books, which I never even dreamed would be possible: ONE MILLION SALES!
This includes sales across all formats – print, digital, and audio – up until the end of March this year, covering the eighteen books released from The Secret to Happiness in September 2019 to Healing Hearts at Bumblebee Barn in January this year.
Those who’ve been following my publishing journey will know that I really struggled for the first five years. My original publisher ceased trading and I was unable to make an impact as an indie author, experiencing day after day of zero sales and wondering whether I should accept that it was never going to happen for me. The rejections from a small round of publisher submissions in late 2018 were tough to take and, when I saw an advert for the newly-formed Boldwood Books in early 2019, I decided this was my last attempt, after which I might need to call it a day.
I submitted The Secret to Happiness on the very first day Boldwood were open for submissions and I’m so glad I took that last chance because, six weeks later, I received an email asking if we could talk – a conversation which completely changed my life.
An enormous thank you to everyone who has helped me reach this one million sales milestone. I’m so grateful to all my wonderful readers for the purchases, borrows, downloads and streams, for the recommendations to friends, family and followers on social media, for the engagement on my Facebook Group (Redland’s Readers), and for the lovely messages you send me.
Thank you to the bloggers and reviewers who so kindly give their time to share their thoughts on my books, whether on a blog tour or simply because they loved the book. Thanks also to the amazingly supportive author community, within and outside Boldwood, who champion each other.
And a final thank you to the incredible Boldwood Books. I’m so honoured to be part of such a supportive, innovative, caring publishing team. So much so that I have more news. I haven’t reached the end of my current contract yet, but I’ve already signed a sixteen-book publishing deal for after that, bringing you four books a year until summer 2028. So please keep reading!
