Frequently Asked Questions

What is "Escape to the Sun" about?

One honeymoon. One broken promise. One unforgettable escape.

Alone on her dream Caribbean Christmas cruise after her husband’s betrayal, Hannah is determined to leave her heartbreak behind, honeymooning in solitude.

Until she meets Captain Louis King - charming, confident, and completely off-limits. She’s sworn off love… and he’s the man steering the ship.

But as island nights glow and the ocean carries them closer together, Hannah’s carefully rebuilt walls begin to crack.

When the voyage ends and the islands fade behind her, Hannah must decide if this Caribbean escape was only about healing, or the start of something she was never meant to find.

A glamorous, sun-drenched romance of second chances, for fans of Sheila O'Flanagan and Ruth O’Leary, Lucy Diamond.

Who wrote "Escape to the Sun"?

"Escape to the Sun" was written by Rachel Barnett.

Rachel Barnett lives in beautiful rural Wiltshire, with her family and their two Labradors, affectionately known as Best Boy and Brat Boy. After a wonderful career as a primary school teacher (yes, it is as exhausting as everyone says!), and creating a little monster of her own, a chink of spare time saw her taking the leap into the unknown, fulfilling a lifelong desire to write a novel. Rachel writes seasonal escapist women’s fiction, combining exceptional ‘wish you were here’ locations with more than a touch of romantic drama for her main characters, and always with a lively group of supporting characters busy with their own escapades to resolve – after all, everyone deserves a happy ending.
