A FUN TIME ON THE CÔTE d’AZUR by Jennifer Bohnet

A storyline in my latest book ‘A French Adventure’ involves a violet farm set in the area of the medieval perched village of Tourrettes-sur-Loup in the Alpes-Maritimes. Its winding streets are full of artisan shops offering paintings and sculptures as well as lots of violet products that the village has been famous for since the 19th century. Olivia, one of the characters in the book, comments when she visits, ‘It’s truly the Village of Violets ‘. In March every year the village holds a violet festival in honour of this little flower.

Over the weekend there are parades, a flower battle, music and dancing in the streets. You can take a guided tour of the village, visit exhibitions, as well as The Bastide de La Violette. It’s a joyous time in the village and visitors are more than welcome to join in.

Many thanks to Phoebe Thomas of https://loumessugo.com/ for the photos.
