Happy New Year!

I love even years. Maybe that’s because I was born in one but 2026 is all even numbers so I think it’s going to be the best one yet

Celebrating the release of a new book is a great way to start. A Wedding in Provence is coming out on the 12th of February and I love that it’s so close to Valentine’s Day for what might be the favourite romance I’ve written so far. Sophie and Luc’s story has the kind of love woven through it that can survive and even triumph over devastating tragedy and betrayal, all set against the irresistible backdrop of the most beautiful locations that Provence can offer the destination wedding business that Sophie runs.

One of those weddings is for Laura Gilchrist – one of the three sisters in the ‘Year in France trilogy – so, if you loved that series you’ll be able to catch up with the whole family on the happiest of occasions. It was an absolute joy to write that chapter.

I’ve also started this year with more excitement by moving house. I’m still in a chaos of cardboard but I know that Akaroa was where I was meant to land in life. I love that it’s the closest I can get to France in New Zealand. French settlers sailed here in the 1840s but got pipped at the post when British raised their flag only days before they landed.

I love that my street has a French name.

It feels French.

It feels like the perfect place to keep writing books set in a part of the world I love so much.

Happy Reading,

Alison Roberts
