The Saga Louts, Beryl, Winnie and Anthea, have been friends for years and trust each other implicitly. That’s not to say that sparks don’t fly from time to time, but through thick and thin they stick together, and woe betide anyone from outside the charmed circle who might dare to criticise one of the three to the other two. These are their tips for a long, supportive and sometimes somewhat tipsy friendship.
- When you find your tribe, never let them slip away
- Loyalty to your friends is everything, even when they drive you bananas
- Gossip is fine in moderation, but secrets between friends are sacrosanct
- Friendship and jaunts go hand-in-hand so as many holidays should be taken together
as is affordably possible. Long, short, at home or abroad, it matters not (although the
right company is everything.) - Prosecco is a gift from the gods when treated with suitable respect and shared with
good buddies. Try not to drink so much that you fall over. Elderly bones don’t bounce
too well. - The past can tear you apart or bind you together as friends; always plump for the
second option if you can - Ignore the old adage Marry in haste, repent at leisure. There’s not too much time left!
- Lovers should be friends too. (But get your gang to check them out first)
- When life gets tough, provide cake, a shoulder and tissues. All things will pass.
