Boldwood is delighted to announce the acquisition of thirteen new authors – bringing the total number of writers on their list to 217.
The new authors range from the bestselling psychological thriller writers Patricia Dixon, AJ Carter and DE White to the masters of the craft of political thriller writing DC Alden and Michael Ridpath; the latter bringing a new historical Foreign Correspondent series set across various European capitals in the 1930s to Boldwood.
As the home of bestselling saga writing, Boldwood is also delighted to welcome four more highly successful historical fiction authors to their list – Kay Brellend, Liz Harris, Glynis Peters and Maggie Sullivan – with series ranging in subject from Victorian factory girls to orphans in World War 2, and set from London to Scotland. To enhance their romance list Boldwood is joined by Ella Cook and Lucy Mitchell – both of whom bring a touch of magic, in turn mischievous and speculative to their writing, alongside the laugh-out-loud writer of romantic comedies Heidi Stephens. And Kirsty Ferry will bring her own brand of gothic witchy time-slip fiction to the list.
All authors have been contracted on multi-book deals and will be published in every format simultaneously in all English-language territories.
To support their ever increasing list of titles, Boldwood is also delighted to announce the hiring of Hannah Sawyer as Senior Marketing Manager. Currently Group Digital Marketing Manager at Headline, she will bring even more focus to Boldwood’s growing genre communities and social media audiences. She says: ‘I’m beyond excited to be joining the team at Boldwood, a company I’ve long admired for their dynamism and innovation. I can’t wait to introduce even more readers to their brilliant list of books and authors.’
And finally, Boldwood rounds off an extremely successful year with their five existing European translation partners by confirming an additional partnership with the preeminent commercial Polish publisher Dressler Dublin – who will publish 20 titles a year from across the Boldwood catalogue and in all formats. The deal was brokered by translation rights agent Vicki Satlow.
Amanda Ridout, Founder and CEO comments: ‘It is thrilling to finish another hugely exciting Boldwood year by welcoming such a stellar list of authors to our family, reflecting the breadth of our commercial offering. As we approach the National Year of Reading, we really can offer stories in every format to delight every reader. And – with our sixth translation partnership – to an increasing number of readers outside the English speaking world. ‘
